That was the year our grandfather, C.W. Taubert, opened up a hardware store in Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Those humble beginnings sparked the beginning of a family retailing tradition that’s lasted for 100 years over four generations.
As a young boy growing up in Germany, C.W. was tempted by the allure of the American West, eventually making his way across the Atlantic, through Ellis Island, and out to the rugged Wyoming plains to fulfill his dream of becoming a cowboy.
